Statewide Trial of Ebrary

The State Library of Kansas is pleased to announce a statewide trial of ebrary, featuring the Public Library Complete collection of more than 17,200 full-text e-books under a simultaneous, multi-user access model. Because ebrary titles are accessed via web browser and not downloaded, no checkout is required.

About ebrary

Public Library Complete includes thousands of e-books designed specifically for high school students in areas such as pre-test, study guides, reference, and more. It also includes a unique selection of more than 4,200 Spanish language e-books as well as fiction, classics, biographies, history, and maps. Users will also find e-books, guides, and manuals on topics such as how to write a resume and cover letter, career development, networking, changing careers, interview tips, careers in specific markets, and more.

The attached word document includes the web address (already active) for the trial from within your library, plus links to ebrary resources for getting started, onlinetraining, training materials, usage reports and more.

About access IP recognition for onsite users

The attached excel document is a list of libraries ebrary has added to the authentication list. If you are not able to connect, please identify your library as named on the list for faster response.

If your library is marked with *, the IP information on record is out of date, and you will not be able to connect.

To add or update your IP information, please send your external IP address/range(s) to Kerry O’Day   (kerry@ebrary.com).

Please send IP information as per these guidelines:

1) No internal IPs (these start with 172.*.*.*,  10.*.*.*,   or 192.168.*.*)

2) No subnet masks

3) No slash notation (if possible)

no numbers go above 255, so…

write 24.48.72.0-255 or 24.48.72.0-24.48.72.255

instead of 24.48.72.0/24

Remote access

Details about providing from-anywhere access via the Kansas Library Card are still being worked out. Stay tuned!
